Arett Sales celebrates its 70th anniversary in business with 4 generations of the Librett family operating Arett Sales. Noah Chesbrough is named Executive Vice President. Adam Chesbrough is named VP of Marketing.
2020
The annual Arett Sales Open House goes "Virtual!" due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Arett Sales operated their flagship Open House all-on-line. This change brought many changes to the methods of going to market however, the dynamic virtual open house platform offered enhancements to the Arett Sales website including an advanced online ordering platform, live virtual meetings, live chats, access to hundreds of product videos, and additional features on the website. Arett Sales annual event was an overwhelming success. The Open House is not the only event that has continued to lead the industry with rave reviews. The Good Tidings Holiday Show with its virtual showroom, the Pottery Showcase and the Open House have taken Arett to new heights.
2017
Arett Sales extends Ohio warehouse lease five years and adds another 70,000 sq. ft.
2015
National Prime Source, the newly appointed Exclusive National Distributor of Scotts for Independent Retailers in North America, selects Arett Sales as an affiliated distributor.
2014
Arett launches their first app, the Arett Mobile Manager, to offer yet another way to efficiently partner with Arett Sales.
Arett now staffs over 175 employees including 44 salespeople serving our 20 states and Washington DC in more than 650,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space with over 7,500 warehoused SKUs and over 20,000 total SKUs.
2013
Arett acquires Commerce’s Good Tidings Division while maintaining existing showroom location and hiring the entire Good Tidings staff.
Arett added another 68,000 sq. ft. to the Bristol, CT warehouse and 96,000 sq. ft. to the Troy, OH warehouse.
2012
Arett hires an additional 15 full time employees at the Troy, OH warehouse to manage increase business.
2011
After 31 years in Cherry Hill, NJ, Arett Sales moved its headquarters to a new office located in Pennsauken, NJ. This new office space provides 55% more space, 3 kitchens, a video production room, 4 conference rooms equipped for video conferences and presentations, a plan-o-gram area and a seminar/meeting space.
2008
Arett opened a new 85,000 sq. ft. warehouse in November 2008 featuring 675 bays of pallet racks and state-of-the-art radio frequency warehouse management system. Arett hired 17 additional full-time workers as well.
2007
Arett purchases Lose Brothers, Inc. of Louisville, KY, a regional lawn and garden distributor that services customers in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee since 1938. All of the Lose Brothers sales staff has been employed by Arett Sales and Mike and Robert Lose will serve in a consulting capacity.
Arett adds an additional 114,000 square feet of warehouse space at its Bristol, CT warehouse.
2004
Arett Sales added another 60,000 sq. ft. to our Bristol, Connecticut facility.
2000
In 2000 Arett moved from the Cheshire facility into a new 250,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Bristol, Connecticut featuring 40 shipping and receiving doors; 28 ft. ceilings; and indoor parking ˜ more space to do more business and do it better!
1999
By the end of the century, Arett Sales was shipping $90,000,000 out of nearly 275,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in two locations!
1998
THE WORKS, a dollar store division of Arett Sales begins.
Arett Sales purchased the assets of Libner Corp.
1997
Purchased Good Prod Sales, the professional division of Arett Sales.
Arett Sales consolidated the Waterbury, CT facility and Monroe, NY warehouse to a new warehouse in Cheshire, CT. with 175,000 sq. ft.

1993
Arett Sales purchased the assets of Pascack Sales and gained a larger market share in New England, New York and New Jersey. Arett also added a Monroe, New York warehouse to manage the increase business.
Arett Sales purchased The Messinger Company and consolidated our market share in western New York State.
1990
Arett Sales purchased Crawford Distributor Corp, and gained APCO, our private label brand of merchandise and a significant market share.
1988
Lindsey Chesbrough becomes President.
1986
Arett Sales of New Rochelle and Arett Sales of New Jersey merged with Irv Librett as the President and owner. At that time, we moved to a new 80,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Waterbury, CT and increased the number of items carried from 2,000 to 5,000 and the number of vendors increased by 300%.
1973
Arett Sales Corp. of New Jersey moved to Marlkress Road in Cherry Hill, NJ ˜ originally a 40,000 sq. ft. building that was later expanded to 100,000 sq. ft.
1963
Irv Librett opened Arett Sales Corp. of New Jersey which served New Jersey, south to North Carolina and west to Ohio out of a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse on Warren Avenue in Cherry Hill and did $275,000 in sales the first year.
1951
Dave Boylan, Eric Mueller and Charles Librett formed an alliance dedicated to providing products and services to the lawn and garden retailer ˜ in 1953, Arett Sales Corp. opened the first Arett warehouse in New Rochelle, New York. The market of concentration was Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. Arett Sales started delivering lawn and garden supplies when fledgling garden centers were just beginning to pop up among nurseries and hardware stores. A century ago, we began with one small facility and a staff of three and delivered goods with our own cars on a regular basis.
1940’s
Librett Hardware opened in New Rochelle, NY offering a variety of hardware supplies to the local community.
